Research focus

The focus of the working group is on biotechnology with fungi and working on all aspects from media optimization, evaluation and use of sustainable substrates, process development and optimization for the production of lignocellulolytic enzymes with anaerobic fungi, single cell oils with different yeast strains and organic acids with the filamentous molds Aspergillus oryzae and Rhizopus delemar. Greater emphasis is already being placed on the integration of molecular biology working techniques in ongoing projects.
